John 7

Today we are reading John 7. In this chapter we are reading about Jesus at the feast of the Passover. “The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him. When they heard these words, some of the people said, “This really is the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?” So there was a division among the people over him. Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him. The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why did you not bring him?” The officers answered, “No one ever spoke like this man!”” ‭‭John‬ ‭7‬:‭32‬, ‭40‬-‭46‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Those who opposed Jesus sent officers to arrest Him. When the officers heard Jesus, they could not follow through with their orders! What was so dis-arming about Jesus that these mighty men lost their will to fight when they heard Him? When the Holy Spirit is at work in you others observe what the guards saw in Jesus. May God use you to disarm all who oppose Him! Pastor Tim
