Today we are reading John 3. In this chapter we read about Jesus speaking with Nicodemus and John the Baptist’s words about who Jesus is. “”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3:16-18 ESV These words are sometimes described as “the Gospel in a nutshell”. Jesus did not come to condemn the world because the world already was condemned. Jesus came to save the world. How do you react to the idea that the world that does not believe is condemned? Ultimately, God will judge every person. Believers are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. The righteous judge will bring true justice which includes punishment for unbelievers. May God bless us to show the way to Jesus. Pastor Tim
