John 19

Today we are reading John 19. In this chapter we read about the crucifixion and death of Jesus. The keyword for this chapter is “ex-ou-si-a”. The definition is “authority”. “He entered his headquarters again and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer. So Pilate said to him, “You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”” John‬ ‭19:9-11‬ ‭ESV In our society we have those who have authority for different purposes. What authority do you have? Jesus tells us that authority is given from above. This means that we are accountable to God for how we use the authority He has given us. May God give you the Holy Spirit to assist you in exercising your authority in a way that pleases Him.  Pastor Tim
