Today we are reading John 15. In this chapter we read about Jesus teaching His disciples to stay close to Him. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.” John 15:5-6 ESV What does it mean to “abide” in Jesus? What do you do every day to abide in Jesus? The result of abiding in Jesus produces spiritual fruit—people coming to faith. How important is it to Jesus that we bear fruit? What happens when a “branch” doesn’t bear fruit? In a very real sense, it is essential that we bear fruit. How will you bear fruit today? Pastor Tim
