Today we are reading Joel 3. In this chapter we read about the coming judgement in the Valley of Jehoshaphat.“Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves there. Bring down your warriors, O Lord. Let the nations stir themselves up and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Go in, tread, for the winepress is full. The vats overflow, for their evil is great. Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 3:11-14 ESV The Valley of Jehoshaphat is also known as the Kidron Valley and is East of Jerusalem between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives. The idea is that on The Lord’s Day, God will come back to this place and judge all people. What comes to mind when you think of God judging all people? Do you know that when Jesus was on the cross He was judged in our place? We who believe have nothing to fear on Judgement Day. May God give you His peace as you confess your sins. Pastor Tim
