Today we are reading Jeremiah 34. In this chapter we read about a covenant God made with King Zedekiah and Judah which they violated.“You recently repented and did what was right in my eyes by proclaiming liberty, each to his neighbor, and you made a covenant before me in the house that is called by my name, but then you turned around and profaned my name when each of you took back his male and female slaves, whom you had set free according to their desire, and you brought them into subjection to be your slaves.”
Jeremiah 34:15-16 ESV This account tells us that the hearts of the people were not completely devoted to God. They were more interested in the life of owning slaves than in obeying God. What hinders you in your relationship with God? How can you make sure that you are fully devoted to God? What can you do to make sure when you repent that you don’t go right back to the same sin? May God bless you and keep you this day! Pastor Tim
