Today we are reading Jeremiah 23. In this chapter we read about the messianic prophecy of Jeremiah about the coming of Jesus. “”Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’” Jeremiah 23:5-6 ESV This prophecy about Jesus was made 600 years before His birth. The time was one of national devastation and yet they could look forward to the messianic age when God would save them. How does your faith bring you comfort when you encounter trouble?
