James 2

Today we are reading James 2. In this chapter we read about the relationship between faith and works. “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” ‭‭James‬ ‭2:14, 17-19, 26‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We know that we are saved by grace through faith. What James is saying is that faith is living and active. If you truly believe then there will be things you do which are the manifestations or works of your faith. What are the works that you see in others? What works do others see in you? How will people see Jesus in you today? May God’s grace and mercy be evident in everything you do. Pastor Tim
