Today we are reading Isaiah 63. In this chapter we read about the rebellion of Israel against God and God’s response. “In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.” Isaiah 63:9-10 ESV many people in their teen years rebelled against their parents. Psychologists who say that this is a natural process where young people establish their identity and independence. Unfortunately, many foolish choices are made during this time and a person may spend a long time trying to overcome their mistakes. This passage tells us that when we rebel against God we are making an enemy out of Him. How tragic! God has demonstrated His steadfast love for us and promises to respond to our prayers. May God always hold you in His loving embrace. Pastor Tim
