Today we are reading Isaiah 56. In this chapter we read about God’s Grace for non-Israelites.“”And the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it, and holds fast my covenant— these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”” Isaiah 56:6-7 When you read the word “foreigner” who do you think of? The irony is we always picture someone else. The truth is that unless you are of Jewish decent this verse is talking about YOU! Isn’t it comforting to read that 2,700 years ago God was expressing compassion toward you and I. We know that the ultimate expression of His compassion is when God sent His Son Jesus to be our Savior. His compassion for foreigners like us continues to this day! May God bless you to imitate His compassion toward those you consider foreigners. Pastor Tim
