Isaiah 39

Today we are reading Isaiah 39. In this chapter we we read how Hezekiah foolishly showed Babylonian envoys the treasures in Jerusalem. Because he acted foolishly God told Hezekiah he would soon die. Hezekiah prayed and asked God to change His plan and God granted his request. “”Go and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and will defend this city.” Isaiah‬ ‭38:5-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Babylonians did eventually come and defeat Jerusalem and carry off all their treasures. Have you ever behaved foolishly and paid a big price? How did you react to the consequences of your foolishness? God can redeem our lives after we mess them up. How have you, with God’s help, overcome your mistakes? May God bless you to share your wisdom and help others trust God to help them out of their mess. Pastor Tim
