Today we are reading Isaiah 36. In this chapter we read about Sennacharib’s invasion of Judah. The Assyrians are filled with arrogance and have invaded Judah. Now they are about to attack and destroy Jerusalem. They boast of all that they will do to humiliate Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem. The people are discouraged and they tell Hezekiah about the Assyrian threats.“But they were silent and answered him not a word, for the king’s command was, “Do not answer him.” Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of the Rabshakeh.” Isaiah 36:21-22 ESV Have you ever been threatened by someone who was obviously much more powerful than you? How did you respond? Remember, God is always bigger than our enemies. He is always able to protect you. May God strengthen your faith and fill you with peace and confidence. Pastor Tim
