Today we are reading Isaiah 24. In this chapter we read about about God punishing the whole earth.“The earth lies defiled under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left.” Isaiah 24:5-6 ESV This total destruction brings us to several conclusions: First, God has the power and authority to do this! Second, the whole earth is guilty before God. Third, God is not indifferent to our sins. These conclusions lead us to our need for our Savior Jesus. Jesus took the sins of the whole world upon Himself. He suffered the punishment our sins deserved. In Jesus’ name we are forgiven and will live forever with Him in Heaven.
