Isaiah 23

Today we are reading Isaiah 23. In this chapter we read God’s word of judgement against the great port cities of Tyre and Sidon. The picture we are given is that all the commerce conducted in these ports brought wealth and prosperity to the people who lived there.  There trading by ships extended worldwide. Their prosperity brought arrogance and immorality. For this God punished them. “The oracle concerning Tyre. Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for Tyre is laid waste, without house or harbor! From the land of Cyprus it is revealed to them.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭23:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Arrogance and immorality are always opposed by God. They also cause pain and suffering for everyone. Repentance and God’s forgiveness bring healing and restoration. May God guide you to be humble in all your ways. Pastor Tim
