Isaiah 21

Today we are reading Isaiah 21. In this chapter we read about the destruction of Babylon. Babylon was another powerful and war-like nation. God used the Babylonians to punish His people for their idolatry. Many Israelites were carried off into captivity in Babylon. For background information google “map of ancient Babylon”.  You will notice that the empire included parts of modern day Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel and Jordan. The experiences of God’s people were spread over all these places as God used these foreign powers to discipline His people. Trace your life journey and note the different places where God interacted with you. I did this recently and was amazed at God’s steady work throughout my life. You can be far away from home and still very close to God. May God bless you with an awareness of His presence in your life! Pastor Tim
