Today we are reading Hebrews 9. In this chapter we read about how Jesus blood purifies us from our sins. The keyword for this chapter is “ha-pax”. The definition is “once for all”. “But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.”
Hebrews 9:26-28 ESV Wouldn’t it be great if someone came along and paid all your debts? Not only your current debts, but also every debt you will ever have? When Jesus made payment for our sins by dying on the cross he paid for all sins of all people. In that single payment he paid once for all. So, how is that reality reflected in your faith life?
