Hebrews 7

Today we are reading Hebrews 7. In this chapter we read about how Jesus ministry is similar and yet superior to that of Melchizedek. The keyword for this chapter is “eng-gu-os”. The definition is “surety, guarantee. The word means a bond, bail, collateral, or some kind of guarantee that a promise will be fulfilled.” “Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7:22‬ ‭NIV‬‬ The idea is that Jesus, in His death and resurrection, guarantees that our sins are paid for. Now in our modern world we know that guarantees are always limited by conditions and terms that favor the seller and not the buyer. How does Jesus’ guarantee favor you? What are the conditions and terms regarding the forgiveness and eternal life you receive in Jesus’ name? May God bless you with His peace. Pastor Tim
