Hebrews 3

Today we are reading Hebrews 3. In this chapter we read about Jesus being greater than Moses. “For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.” Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ To the Hebrew people, Moses was a spiritual giant! So, the author of Hebrews makes the point that Jesus is greater than Moses. From our perspective as Christians, we know this to be true. However, for first century Jewish believers this was a key concept. Jesus is greater than Moses. Moses received the Law from God on Mount Sinai. Jesus, as the Son of God, was the only one to ever fulfill the Law and is the grace-giver. May God give grace through you today. Pastor Tim
