Hebrews 4

Today we are reading Hebrews 4. In this chapter we read about those who believe or reject the Gospel. The keyword for this chapter is ka-ta-pau-sis”. The definition is “rest”. Metaphorically speaking it refers to “the heavenly blessedness in which God dwells, and of which he has promised to make persevering believers in Christ partakers after the toils and trials of life on earth are ended.” “Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.” Hebrews‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God has modeled rest for us in Creation. For six days God created and on the seventh he rested.  The idea here is that if we believe we will rest in heaven. Those who do not believe will not enter into heaven. What do you do to rest? How does rest benefit you? Think of the most peaceful rest you have ever experienced… heaven is better! May God bless you and keep you and preserve you and protect you in your faith in Jesus!
