We Today we are reading Hebrews 12. In this chapter we read about the certainty of our hope in Christ. The keyword for this chapter is “a-sa-leu-ton”. The definition is “not able to be shaken, unshakable.” “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 ESV With all the uncertainty in our world, with all the disturbing trends of violence and immorality, with all the pain and suffering our hope eternal life through faith in Jesus stands in glorious contrast! Everything else may be destroyed but our citizenship in Heaven cannot be shaken. In a Christian bookstore I saw a dramatic photo of an enormous wave crashing against a lighthouse. The well-built lighthouse stood firm upon a rocky foundation. We stand firm with unshakable faith in our unshakable God. How does this translate into your day to day life? Pastor Tim
