Today we are reading Genesis 30. In this chapter we read about the conflict between Jacob’s wives, Rachel and Leah. “When Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, she envied her sister. She said to Jacob, “Give me children, or I shall die!” Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?””
Genesis 30:1-2 ESV Have you ever envied someone so much that you compromised your integrity to get what they had? Rachel was out of her mind with envy! She said, “Give me children or I shall die!” The person she envied was poor Leah, her own sister. How can you be sure that your motives are pure? How can you prevent yourself from manipulating people and circumstances to get what you want? Commit your way to the Lord. He will guard your ways and guide you with His Spirit. Pastor Tim
