Today we are reading Genesis 26. In this chapter we read about the life of Isaac and Rebekah and their sons Jacob and Esau. “When Esau was forty years old, he took Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite to be his wife, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and they made life bitter for Isaac and Rebekah.” Genesis 26:34-35 ESV Does this scenario sound familiar? How has your life been made bitter by a close relative? What do you do to deal with the bitterness? God’s love for us is not tied to our performance. It’s not tied to what group we are part of or our views on certain issues. His love is all about Jesus. He loves us because of what Jesus did on the cross. That’s the same love He calls us to have—even for the ones who make our life bitter. God enable you to do that! Pastor Tim
