Today we are reading Genesis 20. In this chapter we read about Abraham and Abimelech. “From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man’s wife.”” Genesis 20:1-3 ESV In fear Abraham lied about his wife. He was afraid for his life so he put his wife at risk. This is not the way God wants us to be toward our wives. We are called to lay down our lives as Christ laid down His life for the church. How have you laid down your life for your wife? May God inspire your to be a great blessing to your wife. Pastor Tim
