Today we are reading Galatians 3. In this chapter Paul is really angry that the Galatians are now confused about the Gospel. “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—” Galatians 3:1-5 ESV The problem is that some Jews are telling the Galatians that they have to follow Jewish laws to be saved. The message Paul preached proclaimed we are saved by grace through faith and not by works. Do you ever worry that you may not make it to Heaven? It’s hard to remember grace because we don’t see anything like it on earth. Everything is works-based. What can you do to remind yourself of God’s grace? May God’s grace rule your every thought and action. Pastor Tim
