Today we are reading Galatians 1. In chapter one of Galatians Paul writes passionately about the importance of the true Gospel. The keyword for this chapter is “anathema”. The definition is “accursed, to dedicate for destruction”. “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9 This is a very sobering thought—that someone would be accursed. Cursed by who? Cursed by Almighty God! That’s how important preaching the true Gospel is. How can we guard against preaching a false God? Have you ever changed the word of God to avoid offending someone? May God give the Holy Spirit so that you may boldly proclaim the pure Gospel! Pastor Tim
