Today we are reading Exodus 23. In this chapter we read about more laws regarding our neighbors and promises made about the Promised Land. ““You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness. You shall not fall in with the many to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the many, so as to pervert justice, nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his lawsuit.” Exodus 23:1-3 ESV
When we see the politics of our day, these verses are constantly violated. Attacking the character of an opponent with no regard for the truth often is the standard procedure. How would we vote differently if all campaigns and candidates told the truth? Have you ever joined hands with a wicked person? Have you ever had someone lie about you? I’m sure these thoughts stir up a lot of emotions. May you always be honest and a voice of truth. Pastor Tim
