Today we are reading Exodus 2. In this chapter we read about the birth of Moses, his murder of an Egyptian, his flight to Midian and the painful struggle of the Hebrews. “During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.” Exodus 2:23-25 ESV The overarching theme of these chapters is the suffering of the Hebrews. When we suffer, it sometimes feels like God does nothing about it. In this story, we see that God was preparing Moses to rise up and deliver His people from the mighty hand of Pharaoh. Compared with God, Pharoah is nothing. His mighty hand is weak compared to the Creator of the Universe! Who or what is as Pharoah in your life? Is it a person, a situation or an illness? God is already at work preparing for your deliverance. Trust Him! Pastor Tim
