Today we are reading Ephesians 6. Paul concludes his letter to the Ephesians by giving some key instructions. The keyword for this chapter is “pan-o-pli-a”. The definition is “full armor, complete armor. This included such things as a shield, sword, lance, helmet, greaves, and breastplate.” “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:10-11 ESV Paul’s advisement indicates very clearly that we are at war. Who is the enemy? Read through the armor items listed by Paul in verses 14-18. Which items are for defensive purposes? Which are also for offensive purposes? What can you do daily to be strong in the Lord? May God strengthen you for the war we are all involved in because of our faith in Jesus! Pastor Tim
