Today we are reading Colossians 2. In this chapter we read about being rooted and built up.“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.” Colossians 2:6-10 ESV 19 Years ago, when we were looking for a house, we paid careful attention to the foundations. My father-in-law was especially helpful in this process. In spiritual terms, the foundation is even more important. If we are rooted and built up in God’s word, we will grow and produce abundant fruit! The fruit we produce is people coming to Jesus and receiving salvation. So, you see how crucial it is to be rooted and built up in Him! Pastor Tim
