Amos 2

Today we are reading Amos 2. In this chapter we read about God’s judgement against Judah and Israel—the southern and northern kingdoms of the land of Israel.“Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have rejected the law of the Lord, and have not kept his statutes, but their lies have led them astray, those after which their fathers walked. Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals—”‭‭Amos‬ ‭2:4, 6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God calls His people to stand out in godliness. Instead they blended in with the immorality of the people who lived around them. How about you? Do you stand out or blend in? Do live according to God’s ways or do you follow the follow the ways of the world? It is clear during Amos’ time that God took away His blessing from the disobedient. The same is true today. Yet, “If we confess our sins, He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” May God give you His Holy Spirit so that you stand out and give glory to Him. Pastor Tim
