Today we are reading Amos 1. In this chapter we read about God’s judgement on the neighbors of Israel. “And he said: “The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withers.” Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.” Amos 1:2-3 ESV This same formula of judgement is repeated against neighbors to the Northwest, Northeast, East, Southeast, Southwest and west. When you think about your neighbors, do you think God is concerned about them? Is God aware of what is happening around you? If God is aware of Israel’s neighbors then He is also aware of your neighbors. God calls us to love our neighbors the way He does. What is it that keeps you from doing this? May God remind you of every good thing you have in Jesus so you will overflow with His love. Pastor Tim
