Acts 26

Today we are reading Acts 26. In this chapter we find Paul in Caesarea on trial before King Agrippa.  Paul begins his defense noting the king’s understanding of things related to the Christian faith. Then Paul explains the basis for his faith, “And now I stand here on trial because of my hope in the promise made by God to our fathers,” Acts‬ ‭26:6‬. The keyword for this chapter is “el-pi-da”. The definition is “hope”.  Paul clearly places His hope in Jesus the Messiah. For Paul, this hope is everything—everything he wants to talk about, everything he is willing to suffer and sacrifice for and everything that drives him and compels him to do what he does.  How does you hope in Jesus impact what you say and do? May your hope in Jesus fill you with awe and wonder at God’s love for you!  Pastor Tim
