Today we are reading Acts 20. In this chapter Paul is making his way back to Jerusalem. On the way he stops and gives a powerful message to the elders of the church in Ephesus. The keyword for this chapter is “pros-e-ko”. The definition is “to take heed, to pay attention to”. Paul is encouraging the elders to pay attention to God’s word so that when the devil attacks they can endure it. “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.” Acts 20:28. The devil often attacks the truth of God’s word with lies. Has the devil ever succeeded in lying to you and causing you to compromise God’s word? How can you defend yourself against the lies? May the Holy Spirit sanctify you in God’s truth today! Pastor Tim
