Today we are reading Acts 18. Today we are reading about the conclusion of Paul’s Second Missionary Journey. “After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. And he went to see them, and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.” Acts 18:1-3 ESV Priscilla and Aquila were in Corinth (modern-day Greece) because the emperor had commanded all Jews to leave Rome. Can you imagine the government telling all Christians to leave Des Moines? What would you do? Where would you go? Obviously, our system of government is far different from what the Romans had and the authority of an emperor is much greater than our president. But still, imagine the hardship of having to leave your home and everything you know. In spite of the difficulties, Priscilla and Aquila were aggressively promoting the Christian faith. How aggressive are you sharing your faith in Jesus? May God use your difficulties to spread the Gospel! Pastor Tim
