Acts 14

Today we are reading Acts 14. This chapter concludes the First Missionary Journey where we again observe the cycle of success and opposition. The keyword for this chapter is “e-pi-stay-ridz-o”. The definition is “to strengthen” and this word is used to describe what Paul and Barnabas did in helping the new Christians and new churches to grow and develop. “When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith,” Acts‬ ‭14:21-22‬  This they did by teaching God’s word in more depth.  Christians are strengthened through the study of God’s word.  How can you be a teacher of God’s word? May God lead you to your student today!  Pastor Tim
