2 Timothy 3

Today we are reading 2 Timothy 3. In this chapter Paul writes about difficulties to come in the last days and the importance of studying the Scriptures. The keyword for this chapter is “the-o-pneus-tos”. The definition is “God-breathed, breathed into by God, inspired. The rabbinical teaching was that the Spirit of God rested on and in the prophets and spoke through them so that their words did not come from themselves, but from the mouth of God and they spoke and wrote in the Holy Spirit.” “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The idea of inspiration is reminiscent of when God created the first man. The point is that God’s word is living and active and when we read it we benefit spiritually. How diligent are you in the study of God’s word? Why do you think God made this so? May God bless you to hunger and thirst for His word. Pastor Tim
