Today we are reading 2 Timothy 1. In this chapter Paul writes about Timothy’s spiritual beginnings. The keyword for this chapter is “a-na-zo-pu-re-o”. The definition is “to stir up smoldering embers into a living flame, to keep at white heat. The word means either to “kindle afresh” or “to keep a full flame”.“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:6-7 ESV Paul is reminding Timothy of the powerful gift that he received to equip him in serving Jesus. Do not neglect that gift but fan it into flame! Imagine you received some awesome gift but never used it. What a waste—almost worse than not receiving it at all. God pours out spiritual gifts on us to equip us in serving Him. Do not waste your gift! Pray for Him to reveal it to you! Discover it and fan it into flame! Pastor Tim
