The Today we are reading 2 Thessalonians 3. In this chapter Paul gives final instructions to the Thessalonians. The keyword for this chapter is “a-tak-te-o”. The definition is “to be out of rank, to be out of order, to be disorderly, to be idle, to be a loafer.” “For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,” 2 Thessalonians 3:7 ESV Why do you think Paul writes against idleness with such force? How does idleness hurt or hinder the mission of proclaiming the Gospel? Have you ever had a coworker, employer or employee who was unmotivated and idle? How did that impact the rest of the other workers? What is it that you feel you should be more aggressive in doing for the Lord? May God renew your strength and zeal for Jesus and the Gospel!
