2 Thessalonians 2

Today we are reading 2 Thessalonians 2. In this chapter Paul writes about the rebellion that comes immediately preceding Jesus’ return.  The keyword for this chapter is “a-no-mi-a”.  The definition is “lawlessness. The word describes the condition not of one living without law, but of one who acts contrary to law.”“And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.” 2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Acting contrary to the law seems to be more and more common. Why do you think this is so?  How does acting contrary to the law hurt you? Your family and friends? Our society?  How do you feel when you suffer because someone acted contrary to the law? Why should we obey the law? How does your obedience bless those around you? May God defend us from the spirit of rebellion and help us obey those in authority over us.  Pastor Tim
