Today we are reading 2 Samuel 20. In this chapter we read about the rebellion of Sheba. “And David said to Abishai, “Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom. Take your Lord’s servants and pursue him, lest he get himself to fortified cities and escape from us.” And there went out after him Joab’s men and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men. They went out from Jerusalem to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.”
2 Samuel 20:6-7 ESV It seems that David’s reign was constantly plagued with opposition and rebellion. In fact, every kingdom has always experienced the same! It is not so much a statement of David as it is an indication of sinful mankind. As you reflect on times when you have experienced conflict, what sin was the source? Have you resolved the conflict? Are you still wounded or bitter? God wants you to have perfect healing and He offers it in Jesus. First, we receive healing from our sins when we confess them. Second, we receive healing when we forgive others. This spiritual healing gives us emotional healing which also impacts our physical well-being. May you find healing today! Pastor Tim
