2 Peter 2

The Today we are reading 2 Peter 2. In this chapter we read about the danger of teaching contrary to the Bible. The keyword for this chapter is “pseu-do-pro-fay-tays”. The definition is “false prophets. The compound in the word may either mean falsely named, a “sham” or “counterfeit” or it may mean falsely doing the work implied, to speak falsely” “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” 2 Peter‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Do false prophets exist today? Anyone who denies the authority and truth of God’s word is a false prophet. How can you make sure you are not a false prophet? Why is it important for us to faithfully teach God’s word? May God guide and guard you in all truth!  Pastor Tim
