2 Kings 3

Today we are reading 2 Kings 3. In this chapter we read about Moab’s rebellion against the Northern Kingdom (Israel). “And he said, “Thus says the Lord, ‘I will make this dry streambed full of pools.’ For thus says the Lord, ‘You shall not see wind or rain, but that streambed shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, you, your livestock, and your animals.’ This is a light thing in the sight of the Lord. He will also give the Moabites into your hand, and you shall attack every fortified city and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree and stop up all springs of water and ruin every good piece of land with stones.” The next morning, about the time of offering the sacrifice, behold, water came from the direction of Edom, till the country was filled with water.”
‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭3:16-20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The region of ancient Israel, Edom, Moab and the surrounding area was very dry. In such places, water is a matter of life and death. The armies of Israel, Judah and Edom are completely out of water. They will lose the battle. God intervenes and provides a superabundance of water. God gives the victory to the three kings over Moab. How has God protected you? When did He supply a superabundance to save you? What is your response to God’s saving work? May God bless you to live every day as a joyful response to His great gifts in Jesus! Pastor Tim
