Today we are reading 2 Kings 10. In this chapter we read about Jehu purging Israel from descendants of the wicked kings and from Baal worship. “But Jehu did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel to sin—that is, the golden calves that were in Bethel and in Dan. And the Lord said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in carrying out what is right in my eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in my heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.” But Jehu was not careful to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn from the sins of Jeroboam, which he made Israel to sin.” 2 Kings 10:29-31 ESV All of us are flawed. We all struggle with sin. It is important for us to see the impact of our sin on those around us. God calls us to live lives fully devoted to Him. How can you resist sin and honor Jesus? How can you protect your loved-ones and your neighbors from your sin? God promises to help us when we feel tempted. God promises to forgive us when we fail. May you seek His strength in order to stand firm against the devil’s schemes. Pastor Tim
