Today we are reading 2 Corinthians 7. In this chapter we read about the person Paul rebuked in 1 Corinthians. Notice the positive result in a godly rebuke. “As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 ESV Have you ever been confronted with your sin? How did you respond? Most people are initially defensive. A wise person pauses to consider the validity of the accusation. In a healthy way, we should be reflective and responsive. If we are sinning then we need the rebuke! If we are sinning then we are harming ourselves and those around us. Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation without regret. Salvation is the goal. We must do what is necessary for people to come to salvation. May God give you wisdom as you live your life for Him. Pastor Tim
