2 Corinthians 4

Today we are reading 2 Corinthians 4. In this chapter Paul writes about the hope that we have in Christ. “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:16-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ As we age we can sometimes grieve the health we once had. We also can get overwhelmed with the struggles that we face. Paul calls all of these things, “light momentary affliction” . In comparison to the permanent, eternal joy of Heaven, everything is momentary. How does this help you with your suffering? May you not be distracted by the temporary things that are seen.
