2 Chronicles 22

Today we are reading 2 Chronicles 22. In this chapter we are reading about the continuing saga of bad kings and treachery. “Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family of the house of Judah. But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were about to be put to death, and she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Thus Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram and wife of Jehoiada the priest, because she was a sister of Ahaziah, hid him from Athaliah, so that she did not put him to death. And he remained with them six years, hidden in the house of God, while Athaliah reigned over the land.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭22:10-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The treachery of the kingdom must have been very hard on the people of that time. Imagine, having a wicked leader imposing immoral laws on the people. When times were good, the king was a source of pride for the people. When times were bad, the king brought shame and suffering for the people. Through it all, God kept His promises and remained faithful. We have been through some difficult, divisive years. God has been our comfort and strength. What promises of God have brought you comfort? How have you encouraged others? May you bless someone today! Pastor Tim
