1 Timothy 3

Today we are reading 1 Timothy 3. In this chapter we read about all the qualifications for men who become pastors. The keyword for this chapter is “e-pis-ko-pos”. The definition is “overseer, bishop, pastor”. “The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The bar is set very high for pastors—as it should be.  Which of the qualifications for pastors are not true for other Christians? We are all called by God to live lives that please Him in every way. Which qualification is most difficult for you? How does the obedience of your pastor bless you? How does your obedience impact the lives of those around you? May God work through you today as you serve Him!  Pastor Tim
