Today we are reading 1 Timothy 3. In this chapter we read about all the qualifications for men who become pastors. The keyword for this chapter is “e-pis-ko-pos”. The definition is “overseer, bishop, pastor”. “The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.”
1 Timothy 3:1-3 ESV The bar is set very high for pastors—as it should be. Which of the qualifications for pastors are not true for other Christians?
