1 Timothy 1

Today we are reading 1 Timothy 1. In this chapter we read about how God called Paul to serve as an evangelist. “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:15-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Consider who Paul was before God called him to be a missionary. A persecutor of Christians. The leader of the opposition to Christianity in and around Jerusalem. God called him anyway! God made him a champion of the faith. God gave him courage to give his life for the Gospel. How is your life and calling similar to Paul’s? Are their times you have lived in opposition to Jesus? Are their things you have said or done that are against the teachings of the Bible? We have all sinned and fallen short of the life God would have us live. However, in His mercy, God graciously forgives our sin and calls us to be His representatives. So, the things which might disqualify us, (our sins) can turn out to be a great story of redemption as we share our faith. Pastor Tim
