1 Thessalonians 3

Today we are reading 1 Thessalonians 3. In this chapter we read about Paul enduring suffering for the sake of Gospel.  The keyword for this chapter is “sai-no”. The definition is “to shake or wag, used especially of a dog wagging the tail to allure, to fascinate, to flatter, to beguile, to draw aside from the right path.” “and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith, that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.”                                    1 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How do you react to problems and afflictions? Do afflictions distract you from doing what you intended to do? Paul encourages the Thessalonians to not let the afflictions that come their way move them from God’s purpose for their lives. When we serve the Lord, afflictions are part of the deal. When we effectively reach out with the Gospel the devil hates us and will try to derail us with afflictions. Stand strong my brothers and sisters and we will reap an eternal harvest! Pastor Tim
