Today we are reading 1 Peter 5. In this final chapter we read about the importance of humility as we serve God. The keyword for this chapter is “e-pir-rip-to”. The definition is “to throw something upon something else.” True Christian attitude is not negative self-abandonment or resignation, but involves as the expression of one’s self-humbling the positive and trusting of one’s self and one’s troubles to God. “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV What anxieties are you casting on Jesus?
